Czech black/doom metal formation Secret of Darkness originates in 2005, when the core of band's lineup is formed. The rest of the year is marked by preparations of initial music material, as well as by recruitment of additional members into the band. In February 2006 the band played its first live concert, in instrumental fashion only as SoD failed to recruit a suitable vocalist. This problem is solved in November 2006 and the band can thus start fuctioning fully. During its concert activities, SoD played on the club as well as on the festival scene, and also performed abroad. In 2008 the band released its debut EP "...and the Dark Begins". The is currently working on a new album, which is in cooperation with MetalGate scheduled for Fall 2011.
