Dementor

Dementor
Slovakian death metal band Dementor was born in 1988, originally as a trash/death formation. In 1992, the first demo entitled “The Extinction of Christianity” was spawned, a year later a second one called “Morbid Infection”, and in 1994, the debut album “The Church Dies” was released on MC. Further expansion of the discography came in 1997 with the album “Kill The Thought on Christ”, which is already on CD, followed by live shows in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Russia and Germany. In 1999, the third album “The Art of Blasphemy” was released, succeeded a year later by another recording “Enslave the Weak”, which was promoted firstly on a Russian tour along with Vader and secondly on a European tour with the Czech band Crusher. In 2003, Dementor recorded another album entitled “God Defamer” and toured Europe a year later alongside Suffocation and Disgorge of USA and Swedish Insision. Afterwards however, the band announced an end to its existence. Yet, in 2005, Dementor was reformed. Under new lineup, the band recorded a three-song promo in 2006, as well as played several live shows. Between 2007 and 2008, Dementor headed once again to Russia and toured across Europe. In 2009, the current album “Faithless” was released. The band is however currently working on a new album, which will be released under MetalGate towards the end summer holidays 2011, bearing the title “Damned”.
