V.A.R.
Trash metal band V.A.R., Vratislavice Alcoholic Roar, from Liberec is active on Czech metal scene for a very long time indeed, since 1987. In November 1989 the band lineup got its definite form, which remained till today. The first major milestone of V.A.R. was the participation on "Ultrametal" compilation in 1990, along with eg. Debustrol. Immediately after, the band released its debut album "Personal Destruction". In the next 15 years the band released four more studio albums, of which the thus far last one "Za pět minut po smrti" came out in 2007 and includes also a bonus EP "15 Years Fast Like Bikila", which was originally released on vinyl in 2004 and contains four songs sung in English. After the release of this album, the band headed on a promotion tour along with the band of Miloš Dodo Doležal. 2009 was marked by the 20 th anniversary of V.A.R., in relation to which the band released a vinyl re-edition of “No Place to Hide” demo, as well as a DVD “Trash and Drink till Death – 20 Years Alive”.
